In response to concerns raised by bodies such as English
Heritage, the Applicant has prepared a revised scheme
which also addresses comments from Yorkshire Forward’s
Urban Designers and the Council’s Planning, Design and
Conservation Officers.
The revised scheme still seeks the demolition of the former
Odeon Cinema and maintains many of the same uses. The
development has also been significantly reduced in response
to concerns about scale and the total gross development
floor area has been reduced by over a third.
A series of additional technical documents have also been
prepared all of which support changes made to the scheme.
The revised scheme and supplementary information will be
submitted to City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council
following this public exhibition on 27 July 2009. The scheme
will be subject to consultation by City of Bradford
Metropolitan District Council where members of the public
can comment and then City of Bradford Metropolitan District
Council will assess the applications and determine them at
planning committee.
